What do I need to become a Varsity Vibe member?
You need to:
- be a registered student in South Africa;
- own an Apple or Android compatible phone/device; and
- be able to pay the R200 membership fee
(remember that’s a once off fee for the 12 month membership which equates to less then R17/month).

In a nutshell:
- Varsity Vibe has been operating for over 8 years now, predominantly in the Cape Town and Gauteng areas.
- We organise loads of student deals with the coolest brands all over SA.
- Student deals are available all year round (i.e. not once off).
- Membership = R200 for 12 months from date of purchase (i.e. pay today, get deals for 1 year from today).
- We developed an App (available on Google Play and Apple App stores) – Find deals near you, see what new deals are available and redeem deals by showing your completed “My Profile” screen at the till.
- We are a team of dedicated, driven and fun individuals who are trying to make help SA students get more bang for their buck!

Where it all began
Varsity Vibe originated at UCT in 2010 when we launched under the Ikeys Vibe banner. We formed a strategic partnership with the UCT rugby club and in our launch year, over 3000 students loved the Vibe and took advantage of our partners’ offers. Our numbers grew to over 4000 per year and expansion was next.
In 2014, we expanded to WITS in Johannesburg. We partnered with Wits Sport and Wits Vibe was launched with over 4000 students joining the Vibe each year.
Other students soon wanted in, so we created a national brand called Varsity Vibe accessible to all students studying in SA.
We developed SA’s 1st Student Discount App and here we are… offering any student in SA the chance to save massively by downloading our app and becoming a member of Varsity Vibe!
